I love counting. Seriously. Not just like, I lurrve it. Not counting up, though. I love counting down. I have since I was little. Countdowns to birthdays, Christmas break, summer vacations… You name it, I probably counted it down. Just call me the Counting Queen. The Countress. The Count Chocula. Aaaand I’m done.
Currently, I have 3 coundowns happening simultaneously right now. What’s that? You want to know what they are? Well sure, I’ll tell you! First… 209 Days!! This is by FAR the most important and exciting. In 209 days, I will be marrying the man of my dreams!!! Jake and I will be getting married at my church in Park City. CAN. NOT. WAIT. It’s gonna be the best day of my life :)
Second… 6 Days!! Wow, it’s getting so close. In 6 days, I will be getting on a plane to go home for Thanksgiving! It’s been 12 weeks since I’ve been home. 12 weeks since I’ve slept in my own bed with my dog and eaten my mom’s home-cooked meals and had to share the TV with my brothers and my dad. 12 weeks since I’ve seen Jake…. Being long distance is by far the hardest experience I have ever had to go through. Unless you’ve been through it, there’s just no way to know what it’s like. As soon as you’re apart, there is a big, empty hole in your heart. And that hole gets chiseled away constantly with each day that passes. In order to keep going, you have to swallow the pain, push it to the back of your mind and smile on the outside. But you can never fully get rid of it. It’s always there, a persistent ache that you become numb to otherwise you’d never survive. It’s not until you are together again that the hole is filled, and then you realize just how much that ache had hurt…
Ok. Slightly depressing, I realize. Sorry. Let’s just say that I’m extremely excited to be going home! And, on a happier note, the last countdown… 2 Days!! Oh-Em-Gee I can hardly stand it!!! TWO DAYS until the midnight premier of NEW MOON!!!!! Yeah, that’s right, I’m one of those people. I’ll admit it. What can I say? I’m such a sucker -no pun intended- for love stories. And the Twilight series is such a good love story: passionate, forbidden love… What’s not to like? (Don’t answer that.) So yep. In 2 days I will be driving on down to the good ole Kerasotes theater in Marion to watch Bella struggle through depression, Jacob turn into a werewolf, and Edward take his shirt off. :) Haha.
I’ll leave you with Satellite Heart, a song from the soundtrack. So good. I mean really. Even if you don’t like the Twilight series, you have to admit, this is a quality song. Enjoy!
