To say that I had been expecting it would be a lie. I wasn’t at all. I was actually pleasantly surprised when my roommate texted me, asking if I wanted to go on a roomie date. To be honest, I hesitated at first. Not because I didn’t want to go with her, but because of the mountain of homework I still had waiting for me. Then I started thinking about it. We’ve both been so incredibly busy that we’ve hardly seen each other, even though we live in the same room. This is our last year together. Yup, we’ve lived together all four years. We were randomly put together freshman year, and we just clicked. Talk about a blessing. But after this year I will hardly get to see her. She lives here in Indiana. I live in Utah. Not exactly a car ride away.
And that was it. Homework could wait. So we went. And I don’t regret it for a second. We got all dressed up and had such an amazing time catching up and just enjoying each other’s company, outside of campus. After we had finished, we were dreading going back to our massive piles of homework, so we came up with a plan to ease the pain… Nothing beats freshly made cinnamon rolls!
After a quick stop to Walmart and several minutes in the oven, the warm, gooey, frostingy (leave me alone, it’s a legit word in my book… haha), cinnamon covered dough was ready to be demolished. And trust me, it was :)
Thanks for the roomie date, Sara. It was fabulous and I can’t wait till our next night out!
