Let me start by saying that I might have just eaten my weight in spaghetti. Ok, moving on. In other news, my show was accepted!!!! Praise Jesus!!!!!!! I was so relieved to hear that news. Now it’s just a matter of finishing them up and getting them ready to be mounted for the opening exhibit on Monday. That picture above is a shot of my newly printed business cards. They’re nothing spectacular. I just needed something neat and simple for my show. (It’s from 4-6pm in the student center at Indiana Wesleyan if you are in the area and want to come say hi :) I’d love to see you!) I’ll be printing some better ones this summer. (Think letterpress!) These will do for now, though.
Also, the weather in Marion has been spectacular the past week (minus the gloomy, rainy Monday, that is). And even though there are projects galore, reading for days, and papers that have no end, it’s difficult to be in a bad mood with such beautiful weather. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and everyone is outside studying on the grass, or playing basketball, or throwing a frisbee, or skate boarding, or running… Ahhh yes. Running outside is my favorite. Summertime is definitely in the air. I can’t wait for everything this summer has to hold :)
Before I get ahead of myself (there are still 5 weeks of school left, after all), I’ll leave you with my most recent project for my Contemporary class. This week we had to make a cyanotype, which is an image made out of completely blue tones. To be honest, I wasn’t too fond of the idea of a completely blue picture, but I decided to go a more graphic route and I think it turned out alright. Next week we’re doing Van Dyke Brown prints, and I’m much more excited for that. One day at a time though. One day at a time.
