MY WHY

When Jake and I got married, someone said, "I hope today is the day you love each other the least." Truthfully, I don't even remember who said it. But those words struck me. At the time, on my wedding day, I remember thinking this was a very weird sentiment to wish a couple. But as days turned into weeks, weeks to months, and months to years, it becomes clearer exactly what was meant by this and how wonderful it actually is, that my wedding day WAS the day that I loved Jake the least. Because every single day I love him more. Marriage may not always be happy. It's certainly not always easy.

ABOUT CARISSA

BEHIND THE LENS

BACKGROUND

But every day we choose each other. And I don't think there is anything more beautiful than a couple who finds new reasons to love each other day after day, year after year. THAT is why I love photographing weddings so much. A wedding is really just the beginning. Wedding photos represent the start of a love that will only grow stronger with time. My couples get to look back on their wedding photos and be filled with all the love and joy and happiness they felt on their wedding day. And my hope is that they smile and look at each other and say, "That is the day I loved you the least."
